4 adaptive VWAP reset modes
Bar Mode: Fair Value of the Micro-Trend
How it works
Bar Mode defines a VWAP cycle based on a fixed number of bars (N).
When the count is reached, VWAP resets to a new anchor, and the calculation shifts to the most recent price
What this means
You are no longer influenced by volatility that occurred far earlier in the session.
Fair Value stays aligned with the current micro-structure.
Best for
Scalpers, tick chart traders, 1-minute or Renko traders – anyone who needs VWAP to respond quickly to short-term price movement.

Volume Mode: Fair Value of real Order Flow
How it works
Volume Mode defines a VWAP cycle based on a cumulative volume threshold (N).
Once total traded volume reaches that level, VWAP resets and recalculates from a new anchor.
What this means
Each VWAP band represents actual participation – not elapsed time.
Participation often expands after news releases, during session transitions, or following volume spikes.
In those moments, VWAP resets and recalculates Fair Value using the most recent order flow. This prevents VWAP from lagging during high-activity periods.
Best for
Momentum traders, news traders, and anyone who wants VWAP to respond to liquidity rather than fixed time intervals.

Time Mode: Fair Value by Market Session
How it works
Time Mode allows you to define specific time anchors for VWAP resets.
For example, the London Open, New York Open, or key scheduled events such as FOMC or CPI releases.
At each selected time, VWAP resets and begins recalculating from that point forward.
What this means
You can define your own session time windows to generate VWAP bands aligned with your trading plan.
The indicator isolates each session’s Fair Value, eliminating cross-session distortion.
An unusual band expansion within a defined session signals expanding liquidity and committed participation.
Best for
Session-based day traders, opening range and breakout traders, and anyone who wants to isolate session-specific psychology and order flow.

Day Mode: Fair Value of the Entire Trading Day
How it works
Day Mode preserves the traditional VWAP structure.
VWAP is calculated from the start of the trading session and resets at the beginning of each new session.
What this means
It defines the session’s overall valuation benchmark — whether the market is trading at a premium or discount relative to the day’s accepted value.
When combined with Bar, Volume, or Time Mode, you can simultaneously see:
Short-term Fair Value
Session-wide Fair Value
This dual perspective helps you align intraday execution with the broader session bias.
Best for
Day traders, session-bias traders, and anyone who needs a clear structural benchmark for intraday decision-making.
